Radiation Oncologist Opportunity – Eastern Oregon
Summary:
Eastern Oregon Cancer Center (EOCC) is seeking a board certified or board eligible radiation oncologist. EOCC is a freestanding, single LINAC center with a well-established, respected practice that has treated about 13-20 patients per day. On-call is not required. Compensation is $450,000 - $800,000+ depending on the coverage model, experience, qualifications and productivity. Open to both experienced physicians and soon-to-be graduates. This is a solo practice with peer review available.
Relocation is preferred, but not required. We are open to a coverage model that may involve a commuting radiation oncologist or a hybrid model that involves on-site and virtual direct supervision. There are direct 50-minute commuter flights to Pendleton from Portland - as well as direct flights into the local regional airport in Pasco from Seattle (1 hr 10 mins), San Francisco, (2 hours), and Los Angeles (2 hrs 40 mins).
The center is in Pendleton, Oregon—about an hour’s drive from Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities region of Washington (Pasco, Kennewick and Richland). Pendleton is also centrally located between major cities: approximately 3.5 hour drive from Portland and Boise, and 4.5 hours from Seattle.
Facility:
EOCC, built in 2019, is a modern, freestanding, single LINAC cancer center. It is located yards away from St. Anthony Hospital and serves as the primary radiation oncology provider for three regional hospitals. The facility is already established with comprehensive infrastructure, including:
Elekta Synergy (SRS/SBRT capable)
RayStation treatment planning
Mosaiq OIS
Compensation and Partnership Details:
Compensation is $450,000 - $800,000+ depending on the coverage model, experience, qualifications and productivity. A formal partnership track can also be offered based on performance and time, allowing the physician to buy into the practice.
The position offers a high degree of flexibility and autonomy to tailor scheduling and clinical workflows to fit your preferred practice style. The role allows for remote days. On-call is not required.
The center has transitioned to new ownership under a physician-led group, who is committed to maintaining the strength of the practice and continuing to deliver exceptional patient care to a community that needs and deeply values the center.
The opportunity is ideal for a physician who has the appetite to grow and shape the practice, while maintaining work-life balance and making a meaningful impact on the community.
Community and Lifestyle:
Since opening, EOCC has become an essential part of the community, treating 13-20 patients per day. The center has been embraced by the region, with strong support from local hospitals, referring providers, and community members who recognize the importance of having expert cancer care close to home. The Eastern Oregon Cancer Network, a nonprofit foundation, helps ensure that all patients have access to care by assisting with travel and housing, with a patient house a block away from the center.
Pendleton is a close-knit community in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It prides itself with its Western culture and agricultural and ranching past. It is home to the Pendleton Woolen Mills and the Pendleton Round-Up, one of the ten largest rodeos in the world.
